Go on Mission
Go: Take a Mission Trip
God’s Word says in James 1:27 “Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction.”This scripture tells us that there is POWER in visiting orphans. We must find the waiting children who need hope, and we must visit and care for them in their distress.
Go overseas: Travel to the ends of the earth bringing the hope and love of Christ to orphans and waiting children in countries like Haiti, Thailand and Liberia.
Go local: There are hurting foster children and social orphans in our community and state who need the love and hope of Christ. As God’s people, it is our responsibility to show them the hope we have in Christ!
Become a foster care liaison: Be a representative or go-between for your local foster care and your community, youth group, church, or campus ministry. Find needs that you can meet, find kids that you can love.
Help in your area: Get involved in the lives of foster and fatherless kids near you. Consider tutoring, mentoring, CASA (Court Appointed Social Advocate), or collecting items like diapers or backpacks for Gracie’s Closet with the Fayette Youth Protection Home.
Foster: Almost every county has needs for more foster parents, especially for older children. In Fayette County alone, on any given day there are over 110 foster care children. Should it not be Christians who provide hope and love to these children? If not you, then who? If not now, then when? Partner with your state to make it happen?
