We need each of you to make this event a success!  In advance of the event, we are looking for donations of auction items for the silent auction portion of the pasta dinner.  If you have an item, service or experience you are willing to donate, please contact Wendy Koelbl at koelbls@gmail.com for further information.

 

We also need you to be a part of these events!  We have an incredible ministry to highlight on Friday evening at the pasta dinner.  You will not want to miss what God is doing through a very special young woman in Uganda, Africa.  The proceeds from the silent auction will benefit her ministry, as well as other ministries reaching orphans across the globe.  Race with us on Saturday morning, knowing that each footstep you take will be one serving the life of an orphan.  Mark your calendars…we look forward to having you at both events!

Be love by volunteering with Fayette Youth Protection Homes, a local non-profit organization that provides a nurturing environment and supportive services to children and youth who have been the victim of abuse and/or neglect.  Fayette Youth Protection Homes provides community-based foster care services, operates the Friday-Johnson Home, a group home for school-age children, and Gracie’s Closet, a clothing and supply bank for foster families.  www.fyph.org

Be love by supporting New Hope’s ministry in Haiti, New Hope in Haiti.  This ministry serves an orphanage in Haiti that is home to over 100 orphaned children.  Sponsor a child, go on a mission trip, donate supplies, volunteer without leaving home by helping organize trips, supplies, apply for grants, help with paperwork etc. www.newhopeinhaiti.org

Be love by supporting New Hope’s own Ashley Stoll as she serves as a missionary to Liberia through Orphan Relief and Rescue. Ashley works directly with hundreds of orphaned children as part of her ministry.  www.loveinliberia.blogspot.com

Be love by becoming a Safe Families for Children participant.  These families provide temporary loving homes for children from families in crisis.  The commitment is very short-term, allowing families to work through crisis situations before the State foster system must intervene. This is a national program, sponsored locally by Bethany Christian Services. www.safe-families.org

Be love by becoming a Foster Family. Take the training classes to see the different levels of fostering available.  What better way to impact the life of a child than by providing a safe, nurturing, Christian home during a time of crisis.  Foster services offered through the state at www.dfcs.dhr.georgia.gov or through Fayette Youth Protection Homes at www.fyph.org

It has been 10 years since our last missions conference, and we are doing it in a big way. This Saturday, September 25th, the North Campus parking lot will be transformed into an International Bazaar from 10:00am to 2:00pm. All of the missions ministries supported by the church will have a booth representing a different part of the world. Children will be given a passport that can be stamped at each of the booths. The HeartCry booth will feature a video presentation for adults and a hands-on activity for the kids. Bring the whole family and support the ministry of HeartCry.
